German cars: A Technology unmatched

In today’s world, a car has become more than just transport equipment into a completely separate subcategory of culture especially if you look at the German cars point of view. The first German car was built by a gentleman who was known as Gottlieb Daimler in the year 1889 which was powered by a 1.5 hp, a four speed transmission, two cylinder engine which used gasoline for its power and it traveled at 10mph. This made Germany to be among the pioneers of modern auto mobile manufacturing which had been a puzzle for the better part of the 19th century.

The major component or factor that mostly differentiates the German cars from cars that are manufactured in other parts of the world is the exterior which is bound to catch your attention once you set your eyes on the car. Another thing that the German car manufacturers have invested in is the safety measures of the cars. Cars manufactured in Germany are considered to be the safest through out the world.  This is because the German car manufacturers have always put the safety of their customers as a priority when designing the cars.

One of the most common cars among the German cars is the Volkswagen Beetle which was first manufactured in the year 1936. Considered to be a car for ordinary people, it is also one of the models which have sold most cars in the history of the vehicle industry. By the year 1972 it is believed that over 15 million beetles had been sold making it the model which had sold more cars surpassing the previous record which had been set by T Model.  By saying that the Volkswagen beetle is a car manufactured for ordinary people it does not mean that it is inferior compared to other models of the German cars.

It is in order to say that it has one of the highest performing engines with an excellent technical performance coupled with a presentable appearance especially the latest models in the market.  Another model of the German cars that is also worth checking out is the Mercedes-Benz which is known to have a reputation for its durability and quality. Mercedes-Benz is highly credited for its ability to climb from the 25th to 5th place in the quality measures that have been largely dominated by the Japanese motor company Toyota.

This has enabled the Mercedes-Benz to earn a couple of awards for it quality models. According to the consumer report of 2009 in the United States, the German model has been able to prove its critics wrong by climbing the quality ladder thus making the magazine to change their rating every now and then to “average” especially for the S-Class and E-Class models. Another model of the German cars that has been able to rise to the occasion and proved critics wrong is Porsche which was able to bag a title by New York’s Luxury Institute of being the most prestigious automobile in May 2006 survey.

Current Porsche line up include some of the most top of range sports cars from Baxter roadster to the all time favorite and famous product the 911. Among the German cars Porsche was also awarded the J.D Power and Associates in 2006 for being highest-ranked nameplate as a result of the Initial Quality Study (IQS).  The company has established it’s self as one which is able to adopt with the global changing conditions with great financial stability.  At the same time, the company also made a name for its self as being one of the leading manufacturers of the German cars.
